BTLRC Club Minutes from 1/26/08
The meeting was called to order, there were 13 members present.
We voted in our constitution and by-laws.
We discussed possible locations to hold our first show. Here is a list of sites that we will be contacting:
Sheboygan Co. Fair Grounds
Washington Co. Fair Grounds
Manitowoc Co. Fair Grounds
Blue Line Ice Center
We talked about having a New Years Eve show, which would be fun but we live in Wisconsin and we know how bad the weather can be this time of year so we came up with the idea of having a summer time show (possibly Aug.) at night. We are looking into camping options to go along with the show. There was some concern over the noise issues if it was held at Sheb. Co. Fair Grounds due to the Stock Car Racing on Saturday nights. What do you think? Does anyone know if there are any Saturdays in the summer without racing? We are going to be researching this also.
Jodi has arranged for us to hold a brat fry at an upcoming auction in the area. A tenative date of April 12 has been set but is subject to change. We should now at least a month before and will let you know all the details.
Amy will be contacting the Horse Project people concerning the possible use of the horse barn to hold a show. This is a privately owned building on the fair grounds so it may be available later in the season than the fair buildings which are used for winter storage.
Adam will be contacting the show superintendents for the Badger and Tri-County shows to ask permission for our club to hold a 50/50 raffle.
The club members voted to approve the purchase of Lucky Foot software for the record keeping of our club.
We will be placing a full page ad in the Wisconsin RBA Bulletin advertising our club.
We will be selling Scroogey candy bars as another fund raiser. If you have any fund raising ideas of suggestions we would love to hear them.
